Philosophy of Education Paper

Reflection:

As I reach the end of my first year in public school I find that my philosophy of education holds true to my original core belief that "all students will rise to the expectations that are set."  My professional journey has brought me from a private "university model" religious preparatory school to my current position for a Title I school that is divided drastically with regards  to socioeconomics.  However, I have found that all of my students past and present are eager to learn, want to succeed. and just want to know that I am there to be their advocate on a daily basis.  Building a classroom community has been key in helping me to achieve success with my students and has hopefully enabled me to help bring out the best in each of them.  For example, I have a class of students who call  me "mom" and have since the beginning of the school year, and when I asked them about this they stated.  "Mrs. Bare you are basically my school mom, you believe in me, you expect me to do well, and you won't take anything less than my best!"  I pray that all of my students know and continue to carry with them the internal belief that they can achieve anything they set their minds to and work towards, and that I believe in them.  I will always stand by their side continually pushing them to reach for higher goals, to set their standards above the crowd and to dream big.
